My intent is to express and highlight the beauty and the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary. I visually translate what I see, moving purposefully away from realistic representation, to an abstraction, capturing the essence of the image and linking it to a concept or narrative. I aim to convey a feeling, or a memory, or a vague sense of a place, inviting the viewer to connect emotionally with the image.

Making art is entirely playful and freeing for me. I allow each piece to evolve in unpredicted ways. Using acrylics, coloured pencils, pastels, and collage, I add layers of colour, collage paper, lines and other marks. In this process, I can give in to curiosity, a sense of wonder and playfulness, giving up control, seeing patterns and discovering the essence of the image.

Art does not reproduce the visible; it makes visible
